Frequently Asked Questions

    1. How safe is your baby equipment?  As a mother I share your concerns about product safety, so at Tiny Toes Travel we research all baby equipment thoroughly before we add it to our inventory.  Additionally:
      • We only purchase products that are made by companies with a strong reputation for quality and product safety.
      • Our equipment meets all JPMA and CPSC standards.
      • All of our equipment is checked, cleaned, and sanitized before each use.
      • All of our equipment is registered with its manufacturer so that we will be notified if any recalls occur.
      • We have also signed up with the CPSC to be notified of all baby and child-related recalls.
      • Due to recent drop-side crib recalls we do not rent drop-side cribs.
    2. Is the equipment cleaned between rentals?  Definitely!  The health and safety of the children who use our equipment is of the utmost importance to us.
      • We use the natural cleaner “Sol-U-Guard Botanical” by Melaleuca to disinfect our hard-surface products, as it has been shown to kill 99.9% of common household germs. Please click here to read more about this wonderful cleaner.
      • Our soft items such as sheets, mattress pads, and Boppy covers are laundered in hot water using fragrance-free, eco-friendly laundry detergent (Seventh Generation or Biokleen).  For the health of babies with allergies or sensitivities we do not use dryer sheets or fabric softeners on our sheets and other washable products.

    3. What areas do you deliver to?  Please view our “Delivery” page which details which areas we deliver to, our delivery charges, and our delivery hours.
    4. Can I pick-up equipment rentals from you instead of having them delivered? Yes!  We now offer customers the option to pick-up orders in Traverse City near Meijer (3955 US-31 S., Traverse City, MI 49684) with no fee for delivery, and with only a $20 minimum order. This is a great option if your rental order would fall below our $60 rental minimum for deliveries, or if you are vacationing outside our delivery area but will be driving through Traverse City and have a vehicle that will accommodate the equipment.
    5. How far in advance do I need to make my reservation?  All reservations are based on equipment availability, so the best time to make your reservation is once your travel plans have been finalized.  If you need equipment within the next 3 days, please contact us prior to making your reservation to check availability.
    6. How do I choose a car seat? Please view our Car Seat Safety page for a comparison of our rental car seats and links to car seat safety information and instructional videos.
    7. Do you install car seats?  No, for liability purposes we cannot install car seats.  For your convenience we can provide the car seat’s user manual to you upon request, as well as links to car seat installation videos.
    8. How does the rental process work?   It’s easy!  Please visit our Rental Process page for details.
    9. Are there additional fees or taxes in addition to the prices shown?  No.  The only charges you’ll incur are the rental prices shown on each product’s page (and at checkout) and a delivery fee.  Tiny Toes Travel pays all State of Michigan taxes.
    10. What is your cancellation policy?  Cancellations made 72 hours or more prior to your arrival date incur only a $15 processing fee.  Cancellations made within 72 hours of your arrival date incur a fee equal to 50% of your original order (excluding delivery fees).
